The Top 5 Video Games Arriving in November 2023
October 2023 was massive! Most years it’s a toss-up between October and November for which will have the largest slate of major video game releases. While October is already the victor in 2023, November is still a crazy good month. There are lots of big JRPGs. But our top spot is as big as North American releases get. We have one major honorable mention this month in the form of WarioWare: Move It!. Nintendo’s party game is a big release, but it doesn’t have the anticipation behind it that the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in November 2023 have. Here they are:
5. Star Ocean: The Second Story R – November 2
Star Ocean: The Second Story is the best game in the Star Ocean franchise by far. PlayStation owners have had access to every other game in the series on modern consoles until now. The original came out on the PS1, and was an action JRPG way ahead of its time with choices that affect the narrative, including multiple endings. Fans of the Tales series should also take note, as the original Star Ocean games were made by disgruntled Tales devs. Star Ocean: The Second Story R will be available for everything except Xbox.
4. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name – November 9
I’m so happy that the Yakuza, or Like a Dragon, series has become an obvious inclusion on lists like The Top 5 Video Games Arriving in November 2023. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is a side story that bridges the events between Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and next year’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Because it’s a side story players can expect a shorter narrative, and reused environments from other games in the series. But because it’s a Yakuza game, players can also expect 100 hours of content. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be available for everything except the Switch.
