7 – Cream the Rabbit
One of the most popular of Sonic’s 5,000 friends is Cream the Rabbit. She first appears as a playable character in Sonic Advance 2, and has since then become a regular fixture in the Sonic series. Cream is often found alongside her Chao, which is adorably named Cheese, and regularly gets into misadventures with Amy Rose.
 6 – Jazz Jackrabbit
Before Cliff Bleszinski became a video game icon or his work on Unreal Tournament and Gears of War, he helped create Jazz Jackrabbit. The 2D platformer was one of the first games in the genre to find success on PC, and a large part of its success can be attributed to the green rabbit that eventually became EpicGames’ mascot. In a parody of “The Tortoise and the Hare,” Jazz finds himself traveling to different planets in order to stop the evil Devan Shell.
5 – Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
Before Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney helped create Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Oswald never received the attention that Mickey ended up getting, but video games helped him become a relevant character again instead of forever being remembered as a footnote in history. In 2006, Disney reacquired the rights to the character (who was previously owned by NBC Universal), with the plans to use him in a video game. That would end up being Epic Mickey, which saw Oswald interact with his successor for the first time, and even saw the two anthropomorphic characters become friends.
4 – Nabbit
The Easter Bunny may share holiday cheer by giving gifts, but encountering the Nabbit will likely leave someone with a frown. Introduced in New Super Mario Bros. U, the Nabbit is a mischievous rabbit that has a penchant for stealing items. Thankfully for the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario has stopped the Nabbit on many occasions, and it seems like he’s given up his thief lifestyle (at least for a bit) in order to start golfing, as he’s a playable character in Mario Golf: World Tour.
