Plants vs Zombies
Sure, the premise is a bit ridiculous. You control a group of plants that must stop wave after wave of zombies – but this addictive puzzler is still a popular franchise. It spawned a direct puzzle sequel and has since moved into the third-person shooter genre while retaining a lot of the humor people in originally.
Call of Duty: World at War (Zombies Mode)
Upon completing the Call of Duty: World at War campaign, players were treated with a bizarre twist after the credits rolled. Trapped in a building with three other people, hordes of zombies would start bursting through windows, cracks, and other entrances. Survival was all that mattered. This small, minigame would spawn into one of the franchises most popular modes and since then, almost every Call of Duty game has featured some sort of zombie mode (with a few exceptions). And the Call of Duty zombies aren’t dead yet, as they’ll be one of the focal points for Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII.
Bloodborne
Another game on this list that doesn’t feature zombies in the traditional sense, but rather zombie-like creatures that are infected with a plague and look to give the player a bad day. This challenging, action adventure game has garnered enough of fanbase that a sequel is almost inevitable, with some rumors suggesting we’ll see Bloodborne 2 at E3 2018!
