Graphics – But Is It Pretty?
It’s hard to judge a game on it’s graphics in the beta stage before the final coat of polish is applied but this game so far is pretty; fog effects do a great job of selling the desolate city and the frame-rate runs smooth with very little dips. The Division is deserving of some praise for its graphic menu options, consoles are often neglected with graphical settings compared to their PC counterparts. You can choose to sharpen the images on your screen, hide various HUD elements and even toggle a feature called chromatic aberration which simulates a camera lenses focal points, the result is a slightly more decrepit look to the game.
Overall – Is It Worth Your Money?
Short answer: yes. Even in the limited beta stage The Division fires on all cylinders. It’s a fun tactical shooter with lots of customization for clothing, armor, weapons and all the other bells and whistles. As an avid RPG gamer I can appreciate the many different perks and skill options that help define what role your character will play on the battlefield. PVP will ensure that the game will be interesting after the main story is finished, along with all the other side quests and activities that you discover. Grab a friend, heck, maybe even three and pick up this game. You might very well need those friends in the DZ. The Division launches on March 8 for PC, Xbox and PS4.
