5 Co-op Games Guaranteed to Break up Your Holiday Party

3) Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime (PC, PS4, XB1, Switch, macOS, Linux)

Adorable little space rabbits flying a round spaceship and saving other space rabbits from tiny cages. So cute! Positively kawaii! Now up to 4 people can play together as they try to man the 5 different stations in the spaceship – from driving, controlling the moving shield, or firing the cannon – let me tell you, this game looks so sweet and bubblegum cute but when you’re ramming into asteroids because your driver has had 6 tequila shots and is too drunk to control the spaceship, you’re going to want to throw your controller into the TV.

4) Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes (PC, PS4, XB1, Switch, iOs, Linux, Android)

Hey guys, I have an idea for a game. It’s a game where you have to pretend you’re disarming a bomb! One person gets to disarm the bomb, and everyone else gets to boss him around and tell him what to do! It’s like The Hurt Locker, except more fun because we turned it into a party game! Yes, this game actually exists, and there is absolutely nothing more delightful and relaxing than having a bunch of people scream at you to cut the red wire and not the blue one! Guaranteed to break up your party in 20 minutes or less.

5) Magicka 2 (PC, PS4, Linux, macOS)

2 words: FRIENDLY FIRE! This game about adorable wizards that can cast spells is on the surface, a fun little fantasy co-op jaunt. You can cast different types of elemental spells, shoot beams of fire and ice from your hands towards enemies – the only issue is that friendly fire can’t be disabled in this game. That means your brother-in-law that you nicknamed “Dickhead the Troll Under the Bridge” is going to constantly shoot everyone until they’re dead and laugh uproariously while doing so. So, want to take bets on who eventually cracks and attacks him first?

That’s our list! Pick your favorite and when the time comes to wind down your party and you’ve got those malingerers that just won’t leave, you know what to do. Fire up your gaming platform of choice and throw on one of these babies, give it a few minutes and then just watch as they fly out the door.
