The 3 Best and 3 Worst Games From September 2017

The Worst

Lightfield

Lightfield is a futuristic racing game with a mix of “action-packed racing and colorful Zen relaxation”. Lightfield looks and sounds great, with awesome neon lights and a soundtrack that is very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the game lacks features and the experience does lack some depth. While fans of the genre may enjoy this futuristic racer, it was one of our lower scored games of the month.

NASCAR Heat 2

While touted as bringing the most authentic and intense stock car and truck racing of all time, NASCAR Heat 2 faces some serious competition with some racing behemoths releasing shortly after it does. While it does have a head start, the racing game features poor wheel support, awkward starts to races, and a sterile feeling. While the game does improve on its first title, it does not compare well to other contemporary titles.

Senko no Ronde 2

With the unfortunate distinction of being our lowest rated game of September 2017, Senko no Ronde 2 rounds out our list of games for the month. Perhaps best described as a fighting game mixed with a bullet hell shoot-em-up style, this 1 on 1 robot battling game was described as having fast and flashy action and a cool B.O.S.S mode. On the other hand, the storyline is nonsensical, controls are not optimal, and the “entire game feels incoherent”. Despite the negatives listed, we do note that the game does have its audience, but it certainly does not cater to everyone.
