Was there ever any doubt that Super Mario Odyssey would not appear on October 2017’s list of best games? Not only is the game the biggest of the month, but is easily one of the year’s best games. Mario is back on a new grand adventure spanning multiple worlds traversed to and from with his airship, the Odyssey. With many contemporary shooters focusing primarily on the multiplayer aspects of the games, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus stays true to the series with its latest entry in the Wolfenstein franchise. With a compelling story, tight gameplay, and weapon wheel, Wolfenstein II is one of the best shooters of the year. While some may prefer multiplayer shooters, Wolfenstein II provides a solid challenge for players as the game is no cakewalk.

In the eyes of many, the Assassin’s Creed series has been on a downward trend. However, Assassin’s Creed Origins easily restores what faith had been lost. With a captivating story set in the setting of Ancient Egypt, the game has no shortage of content. In addition, the game looks spectacular with stunning graphics which future owners of the Xbox One X will be sure to enjoy even more. Perhaps the most intriguing new element to the series is the roleplaying game elements that extends to various equipment. Fans (and former fans) of the series should not worry, as Assassin’s Creed Origins is perhaps the best title in the series in a long time.
