The 3 Best and Worst Games from August 2018

The Worst

Train World Sim

Okay, so if we’re being honest, Train World Sim plays with as much excitement as it sounds. Of course, you probably could have guessed that isn’t a whole lot just from the title itself, right? While it looks great, the world is devoid of anything intriguing, which leaves an overwhelming sense of boredom. Our review states, “[I]t delivers what it promises – a depressingly-realistic simulation of utterly boring inter-urban train transportation.” Unless you really want to experience what it means to ride a train, staring out the window at dreary scene after dreary scene, this might be one to skip, after all you can do that in real life already, right?

South Park: The Fractured But Whole – Bring the Crunch DLC

I’m not saying that this Bring the Crunch DLC is inherently bad, or one of the worst additions to a game I’ve ever seen, but it simply doesn’t live up to its potential. And after the original South Park: The Fractured But Whole game received an extremely positive response, Bring the Crunch isn’t exactly the epic addition fans were hoping for. Here’s what our review had to say, It’s short length, lack of content, and unnecessary boss battles to pad the run time of an already short experience feel weak compared to the insane and wild content of the base game itself.”

H1Z1: Battle Royale

H1Z1: Battle Royale may be one of the pioneers of the entire Battle Royale craze sweeping not only the nation, but the entire world, however unfortunately it just doesn’t stack up against the two other huge names of the genre: Fortnite and PUBG. Just because it lands here as one of the worst titles of August 2018 doesn’t mean it’s bad by any stretch, but when a game launches into full release there’s a certain expectation attached. Sadly, H1Z1 remains a game with unrealized potential with its lack of focus, polish, and overall content.”
