11 Upcoming Remasters and Remakes You’ll Want to Get Your Hands On in 2016

Remasters and remakes of releases from the past seem to be never-ending in this day and age. However, that doesn’t mean you should stop looking towards them for a good game to unwind or even reminisce over. With all major platforms getting a game with the remaster or remake treatment, here are 11 of them coming out soon that you should keep your eyes peeled for.

11 – Odin Sphere Leifthrasir (PS4, PS3, PS Vita)

Release Date: Spring 2016

The original Odin Sphere game graced Sony’s PS2 in 2007 depicting five stories that intertwined and interlocked with one another. Now we’re ready and set to see Odin Sphere Leifthrasir for the current gen. It’s set in the same world as the one in Dragon’s Crown, the more recent and relatively similar game to Odin Sphere from Atlus. The art style and designs in the original game were already breathtaking on the PS2 so being able to see it in 1080p on the PS4 is something everyone should at least take a glimpse at.

10/9 – Resident Evil 0 & 2 (PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox360 & TBA)

Release Date: January 19th 2016 & TBA (2016?)

Capcom has been on a roll with announcing remasters, and now even a huge remake. While Resident Evil 0 was originally only released on the Nintendo GameCube back in 2002, Resident Evil 2 was released back in 1998 on Sony’s PS1. Resident Evil 0 is getting a similar treatment as what Resident Evil HD Remaster got, but Resident Evil 2 will be getting a full-blown remake – something fans of the game have been praying for. Alas, both new and old fans can soon experience two more Resident Evil games on their modern consoles.

Resident Evil Zero and 2

8 – Heavy Rain (PS4)

Release Date: March 1st 2016

Heavy Rain was quite a different game to land on the PS3 back in 2010 as it’s almost more of a cinematic experience than a game. Nonetheless, it definitely made an impact for its unique gameplay and intriguing story. It’s won numerous awards and is even getting a film adaptation. So for those who missed out on it the first time around, it’s a good chance to give it a try.
