Ranking 10 of the Worst Video Games in History

4 – Duke Nukem: Forever (PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)

I was unhappy with this game — no scratch that, I was fuming. Duke Nukem was a big part of my childhood growing up, it was my first taste of adulthood with a wise cracking, machismo parody of an action-hero killing everything in sight. When Duke Nukem: Forever was released I was beyond excited to step back into Dukes shoes to kick-ass and chew bubble gum. Here began my disappointment…

Duke Nukem: Forever tried to have the same witty humour as the original, but it came off as crass and childish more than anything. It also limited you to only two guns which is ridiculous. Add in the cheesy one liners and dated pop culture references and you have one painful release. The game was awful in every way and I traded it in with the quickness because I couldn’t have it near me anymore.

3 – Cheetahmen II (NES)

This is the most diabolical, shameful and disgraceful game on this list. Why, you ask? First, let’s begin on why it’s a bad game — due to a glitch some enemies were invincible, levels were incomplete and there’s even spelling errors in some of the dialogue. The whole thing was riddled with glitches which rendered it unplayable and that’s not even the worst part. Are you ready for this? Cheetahmen II was sold for upwards of $1000. So, the game was ‘completed’ by developers, but there was never an official release for the Cheetahmen sequel. In 1997 in a Florida warehouse, 1500 copies were found and sold on a secondary market — piece by piece these games were given out for ludicrous prices and people bought it. Today Cheetamen II is considered a rare NES title and copies are being sold for upwards of $1500. If you want to burn your money I can think of endless things that are better to spend it on.
