Build the Best Vessel in ShipShaper
ShipShaper is officially setting sail for Steam Early Access on September 3, 2026. Independent publisher Wired Productions and BAFTA-nominated solo developer Tomas Sala announced the release date during the opening presentation of Six One Indie’s Six One Demo Days, marking another major milestone for the creative shipbuilding sandbox.
The game continues the long-running partnership between Wired Productions and Tomas Sala, who previously collaborated on The Falconeer and Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles. With ShipShaper, Sala shifts the focus from action to creativity, giving players the freedom to design ships without restrictions or complicated building systems.

Instead of combat or resource management, ShipShaper encourages players to experiment with shapes and designs. Whether it’s a traditional fishing boat, a towering sailing ship, a submarine, an ironclad, or an imaginative vessel unlike anything seen before, players can freely craft their creations using intuitive tools.
The Early Access version introduces several new features beyond the current demo. Players will finally be able to launch their custom ships into the water and sail them. The update also adds historical weapons and turrets, new propulsion systems, additional sail options, lighting, decorative props, and improved shaping tools for even greater customization.
Players can display finished ships in handcrafted dioramas or bottles, export them into Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles, or use them in other creative projects. They can even prepare their designs for 3D printing with external software. The game also includes a free commercial license, allowing creators to use their ship models in personal or commercial projects.
The developers say many of the game’s new features were inspired by community feedback, and Early Access will continue to shape its future. If you enjoy creative sandbox experiences, ShipShaper is certainly one to keep an eye on this September.
