Ride Together in WheelMates
Firevolt’s co-op adventure WheelMates is back in the spotlight during Steam Next Fest, this time with an updated demo that adds more polish and player-friendly features. Alongside the announcement at the Future Games Show, the developers also confirmed that the full PC release will be on September 7.
WheelMates invites players into a quirky indoor adventure where two friends take control of tiny RC cars, exploring the home of a mysterious missing scientist. What sounds simple quickly turns into a playful and chaotic journey. Players can race across bookshelves, knock everyday objects to the floor, and zip through tight spaces like under sofas, all while uncovering clues about the scientist’s disappearance.
The latest demo update improves the overall driving experience with new handling options, allowing players to fine-tune how their RC cars feel. The team also enhanced the camera controls, making it easier to navigate the game’s creatively designed indoor environments. A new Journal feature has been added as well, helping players keep track of story progress and piece together the mystery.
Another welcome addition is full Steam Deck support, making it easier to enjoy the game on the go or settle in for a relaxed couch co-op session with a friend.
With its charming concept and improved gameplay, WheelMates is undoubtedly one of the more memorable co-op experiences participating in the Steam Next Fest. It is definitely a demo worth trying, especially with a friend by your side.
