Welcome to the World of AENIGMA
NEUROMANCE has officially released the demo for AENIGMA on Steam, offering players an early look at its ambitious sci-fi visual novel. It is currently featured at this year’s V3 Expo and will also be a part of the upcoming Steam Next Fest.

Set in the distant year 4XXX, the game explores a bleak future where humanity has retreated deep underground, cut off from the surface due to the relentless spread of silicon-based lifeforms.
The story traces its roots back to the aftermath of a devastating third-world war, which left Earth’s surface uninhabitable. In a desperate attempt to survive, humans created silicon-based beings as laborers to construct vast underground shelters. Over time, these creations evolved, multiplied, and ultimately turned against their creators, wiping out those who once controlled them.
What followed was the beginning of a prolonged conflict between carbon-based humans and their silicon counterparts. As the years passed, the balance of power shifted. While humanity stagnated, the silicon lifeforms advanced rapidly in both strength and technology, ushering in the Silicon Age.
AENIGMA presents this conflict through a layered narrative structure, weaving together an alternate history told across multiple perspectives and timelines. The game features more than 40 characters, over 50 locations, and an extensive collection of backgrounds and music tracks. All designed to support its cinematic presentation.
With its focus on themes like identity, memory, and evolution, AENIGMA is undoubtedly one of the distinctive entries in the visual novel genre. You can go ahead and check out the demo right now, or even wishlist the title on Steam for future updates.
