Developer Effort Star and publisher Joystick Ventures have confirmed that Enter the Chronosphere will launch in Early Access on Steam on May 14, 2026, priced at $14.99 during its early phase. The announcement follows a strong reception during Steam Next Fest, where players got a first look at the game’s distinctive blend of turn-based tactics and bullet hell mechanics.
At its core, Enter the Chronosphere introduces a clever twist as movement only happens when the player acts. Bullets freeze mid-air, enemies pause in place, and every decision can be carefully planned. The moment you move, attack, or dodge, the entire battlefield springs to life, creating a mix of strategy and fast-paced action that feels both controlled and intense.
The game features five diverse biomes, each offering its own weapons, gear, bosses, and environmental challenges. These range from landscapes inspired by Australiana to eerie sci-fi insect hives. Players can choose between three unique characters, including Marcia, the last human in the universe, Urtar, a bear, and Lillypilly, a frog with a distinct style. Each run unfolds within procedurally generated chronospheres, offering different missions and modifiers to keep gameplay fresh.
Inspired by classic roguelikes, the game reimagines the genre by making every moment visible and deliberate, while still delivering chaotic action. Effort Star plans to share more updates on features and improvements as Early Access progresses.
