Krush Kill ‘N Destroy Series Brings Modern Online Multiplayer in Major Update

A Long-Awaited Feature Finally Arrives in Krush Kill ‘N Destroy

Ziggurat Interactive has announced a major revival for its classic sci-fi strategy series Krush Kill ‘N Destroy, bringing meaningful updates nearly two decades after the original releases. Working alongside a team led by longtime series modder Andre “IceReaper” Mohren, the publisher is updating Krush Kill ‘N Destroy Xtreme (1997) and Krush Kill ‘N Destroy 2: Krossfire (1998) with modern online PvP multiplayer support for both Steam and GOG.

The original games placed players in a brutal post-apocalyptic world where rival factions fought for control of scarce oil resources. Players commanded a wide range of units across land, air, and sea, tackling dozens of missions set in harsh and unforgiving environments. The gameplay combined strategic planning with fast-paced combat, giving the series its distinctive identity.

The upcoming updates go beyond multiplayer restoration. Players can expect improved display resolution options, refined game balance, better mod support, additional language options, and fixes for long-standing technical issues. These enhancements aim to make the experience smoother while preserving the core feel of the originals.

A closed beta is currently open for press and players who want early access to the changes. An opt-in open beta will roll out in May 2026 for all existing owners, followed by a full release in June 2026. Notably, current owners will receive these updates for free, though the base price of each title will rise from $6.99 to $9.99 once the open beta begins.

With these updates, the classic RTS series is set to find new life among both longtime fans and modern players.
