Annalog Kickstarter Hits 100% Funding Goal Within a Day

Embark On a Retro Adventure in Annalog

Independent publisher The Retro Room Games and developer mdsteele have revealed that the Kickstarter campaign for Annalog went live yesterday and has already hit 100 percent of its funding goal, marking a strong early response from retro gaming fans.

Annalog is a brand-new Metroidvania adventure for the classic Nintendo Entertainment System. Set in a mysterious post-apocalyptic world, the game blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and action into a unique experience. Players will navigate a sprawling landscape full of abandoned machines that they can reprogram. This allows them to solve the problems creatively and provides multiple ways to progress. As the story unfolds, players uncover the fall of a once-advanced civilization and ultimately decide whether to rebuild it or erase it for good.

The developers have already completed the game and extensively tested it on real NES hardware to ensure a smooth experience. They have also made the source code freely available, showing their open and community-friendly approach. Through the Kickstarter campaign, the team aims to fund a complete physical release. This includes a boxed NES cartridge and a printed manual, along with optional rewards such as a soundtrack CD, digital bonuses, and early access to the game ROM.

In terms of gameplay, Annalog offers tight, responsive platforming paired with a flexible programming system. The game lets players approach puzzles in different ways. The adventure spans thirteen distinct regions, features eight challenging bosses, and includes dozens of characters with rich dialogue. With multiple upgrades, collectibles, and three possible endings, the game promises strong replay value for fans of classic retro adventures.
