Alpha Nomos Just Released a Steam Demo Alongside a Brand-New Gameplay Trailer

Join the Musical Action in Alpha Nomos

Independent studio RibCage Games has released a new demo and gameplay trailer for its upcoming rhythm-action roguelite game, Alpha Nomos. Now available on PC through Steam, the demo offers the most complete look at the game so far, featuring expanded levels, improved combat systems, deeper progression mechanics, and a dynamic soundtrack that evolves with each run.

Alpha Nomos takes place in a shattered world shaped by a mysterious force of the same name. Players step into the role of Cello, a fighter navigating a post-apocalyptic landscape filled with corrupted puppets. Her weapons are entirely musical instruments, turning every encounter into a carefully timed performance where attacks, enemy movements, and environmental reactions follow the rhythm.

The game builds its core experience around music-driven combat. Players must strike, dodge, and move in sync with the beat to maintain momentum. Precise timing allows actions to flow smoothly, while missing the rhythm disrupts combat and leaves players vulnerable. This system creates a strong connection between sound and gameplay, making each encounter feel like a live composition.

The demo also introduces new arenas, a branching power-up system, and additional narrative elements that unfold between runs. As players progress, the soundtrack adapts to their choices, adding new layers and rhythms based on weapons, upgrades, and playstyle.

Inspired by titles like Hi-Fi Rush, BPM: Bullets Per Minute, and Crypt of the NecroDancer, Alpha Nomos promises to deliver an experience that combines rhythmic combat with roguelite structure and a distinct puppet-themed visual style set in eerie, abandoned environments.
