Try Your Luck in Slot or Not
Indie studio MaKo Team has officially launched the beta playtest for its upcoming title Slot or Not on Steam, giving players an early opportunity to experience the game ahead of its full release. Interested players can request access to the playtest directly through the game’s Steam page and take part in shaping the final version of the project.
Slot or Not marks the debut title from the two-person studio. The game blends deck-building mechanics with a turn-based slot machine combat system. Players fight against waves of strange and dangerous evil fruits while teaming up with a loyal battle buddy slot machine. The goal is to protect a peaceful village while collecting valuable loot and building powerful combinations through spins and strategic item choices.
While the full release is currently planned for May 2026 on Steam, the newly launched beta allows players to dive into the experience much earlier. Those selected for the playtest will gain access to two complete chapters from the game’s planned five-chapter structure. According to the developers, this portion of the game should offer at least two hours of gameplay, providing a substantial preview of the adventure.
MaKo Team says the playtest will play an important role in balancing the game’s many systems. Slot or Not features numerous deck items, run-modifying trinkets, and a variety of synergy-based mechanics. Player feedback will help refine these systems before launch. The playtest version also includes a short survey designed to collect detailed feedback from participants.
