Prepare to Type in Tomb of the Bloodletter
Get ready to enter Tomb of the Bloodletter, a strategic typing roguelike where success depends less on perfect builds and more on spelling the right word at the exact right moment. Developed by solo developer Ethan’s Secretions, the game launches on PC via Steam on February 5, 2026, with a playable demo available now.
Tomb of the Bloodletter turns the keyboard into a weapon, building its entire combat system around typing. Each run assigns powerful Magicks to individual letters, and every letter follows its own strange rules. Some strike harder when placed at the end of a word, others restore health, while certain Magicks punish specific patterns or combinations. Players must think beyond vocabulary, carefully constructing words to trigger beneficial effects while avoiding dangerous interactions.
Runs follow a classic roguelike structure, delivering fast-paced, randomized sessions that last roughly 30 minutes and end in either triumph or failure. Instead of long-term optimization, the game focuses on tactical decision-making from turn to turn. Players always have access to their full keyboard, but shifting Magicks constantly reshape how letters behave, forcing adaptation and creative problem-solving.
Each descent sends players into a cursed, ever-changing tomb as one of four doomed grave robbers, each with unique traits that bend the rules of combat. The dungeon fills with cursed beasts, spectral tricksters, and unspeakable horrors, all designed with distinct mechanics that demand precise wordplay. As runs progress, new Magicks are added, whether welcomed or not, transforming the keyboard into an unstable spellbook that is as dangerous as it is powerful.
Players can explore the early depths now through the Steam demo, which features the first two playable characters.
