Traverse the Swamps in Pale Coins
Pale Coins is expanding in a big way with its first major update, v1.1 “Call of the Swamp,” available today. Developed by solo creator Lukas Irzl, the pixelated action RPG takes its next step forward with a wave of new content, deeper systems, and quality-of-life improvements shaped directly by community feedback.

Call of the Swamp pushes players deeper into the world of Grenmark, introducing a dangerous new swamp challenge filled with fresh enemy types. This eerie region tests both combat skill and build planning, while new gameplay mechanics add more depth to progression and character customization. The update also marks the beginning of Pale Coins’ post-launch journey, laying the foundation for a broader content roadmap planned throughout 2026.
Version 1.1 brings several highly requested features that expand how players interact with the world. A new cooking system lets adventurers light campfires and prepare dishes that offer useful benefits. The capital city now includes a collection system that rewards exploration, while added storage chests help players manage valuable loot more effectively. A customizable loot filter allows players to control which items appear on screen, keeping the focus on what truly matters.
The update also expands build variety with new equipment, enchantments, and additional item prefixes and suffixes designed for advanced characters. These additions give players more ways to fine-tune their champions and experiment with powerful combinations.
Available as a free update for all players, Call of the Swamp strengthens Pale Coins’ blend of old-school RPG design and modern mechanics. As players battle brutal bosses, explore goblin-infested caves, and hunt for legendary gear, the search for the mythical Coin of Champions becomes deeper and more rewarding than ever.
