Better Luck Next Run Hits Steam Tomorrow With a Fresh Twist on Roguelite JRPGs

Lead Your Party in Better Luck Next Run

Bare Minimum Media Inc. has announced that its upcoming roguelite JRPG Better Luck Next Run will launch on Steam tomorrow, offering a fast-paced and replayable spin on classic 16-bit role-playing games. The game will be available at a discounted price of $3.99 for the first two weeks, after which it will retail for $4.99.

Developed in RPG Maker MZ, Better Luck Next Run combines traditional turn-based combat with roguelite progression. Players build their party, customize skills, weapons, and items, and dive into dungeon runs where every decision shapes the outcome. Each run presents fresh possibilities, drawing from a pool of more than 400 options to keep gameplay varied and engaging.

The game allows players to choose from 50 distinct characters, each bringing unique classes, stats, and playstyles. Combat encourages players to actively exploit elemental weaknesses while exploring 10 diverse biomes filled with different enemies and shrine effects. A typical run lasts between 30 and 60 minutes, making it easy to jump in and experiment with new strategies.

Players will face five major bosses, each demanding careful planning and different approaches to defeat. Beyond individual runs, the game rewards progress by letting players spend gold in a persistent hub to unlock new characters, skills, weapons, and items, steadily expanding future runs.

The game also supports challenge modifiers, Steam Achievements, Cloud Saves, and full controller and Steam Deck compatibility.

With its strong focus on player choice and replayability, Better Luck Next Run aims to deliver a tight and rewarding RPG experience when it arrives tomorrow.
