Pick Up Your Arms for Active Matter
Gaijin Entertainment and Matter Team have officially launched the early version of Active Matter for PC. Players can choose from four editions in the Gaijin Store. Three include unique starting weapons and gear sets, while the fourth offers two extra copies so three friends can join the action. The full release is planned for Steam and consoles in 2026, with exact dates and pricing to be revealed later.

The early version brings an expansive experience with dozens of PvPvE and PvE raids across Dalniy Island and vibrant African landscapes. You can play the raids solo or in squads of up to three. In PvPvE missions, players battle monstrous creatures corrupted by active matter while competing against rival operatives for loot. Pure PvE raids allow uninterrupted exploration of the multiverse without other human players interfering.
Unpredictable anomalies such as gravity-warping zones, which let operatives run on walls and ceilings, or destructive ball lightning, which obliterates everything nearby, shape battles. Clever use of these hazards, like sneaking along ceilings to flank enemies, can turn the tide. Giant bosses demand careful strategy, and temporary alliances might be the key to surviving these high-risk, high-reward encounters.
For those seeking competitive action, PvP battles take place on the global Battle for the Nexus map, featuring unique locations such as ancient Aztec temples and futuristic skyscrapers. PvP skirmishes carry no risk of losing gear upon death, offering a more direct combat experience.
Active Matter’s arsenal includes over 60 realistic firearms, from the Makarov pistol to the M110A1 sniper rifle, all customizable to fit different playstyles. Melee fans can wield knives, axes, hammers, and spears, while advanced operatives deploy drones, robodogs, and vehicles ranging from trucks and buggies to ATVs and tanks. So, are you up for this challenge? Find out now in the early version.
