Assassin’s Creed Devs May Be Preparing for Big Showcase This Weekend
Assassin’s Creed devs will reportedly reveal more titles in a product showcase this weekend. Ubisoft has been teasing the gaming community about this great reveal for months. According to multiple reports, they will “unveil the future of Assassin’s Creed” during Ubisoft Forward.
This event is set to take place on September 10th. According to some gaming industry insiders, devs are going to use the showcase to reveal two major Assassin’s Creed entries, as well as a mobile game. Two big announcements will reportedly be part of Assassin’s Creed Infinity.
This is actually a huge collaboration between Ubisoft’s Quebec and Montreal studios. Devs intend to make it serve as a platform for multiple games that have different settings. Fans of the franchise are expecting Infinity to come out sometime in 2024 at the earliest.
The first will be Red. It will be developed by the Quebec studio and will feature a feudal Japan setting. The leak came with early concept art that showed a female samurai-like assassin. However, fans are speculating that they will also have the option to choose a male protagonist.
The second one is Hexe or Neo. It will come from the Montreal office and will revolve around the witch trials that took place during the latter stages of the Holy Roman Empire. Devs described it as the “darkest Assassin’s Creed game ever.”
Furthermore, multiple sources have also reported earlier this year that devs were planning to launch a smaller scale stealth-focused game. This will be more attuned with the earlier installments of the series. The more recent ones are clearly more influenced by an RPG vibe. There are also reports that devs are going to unveil a China-set mobile game for the franchise. Its codename is Project Jade.
