Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Co-Op Shakes Up Traditional Format

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Trailer Reveals Co-Op Gameplay

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet devs just shared a new trailer for the game. The new footage gave fans a sneak peek of its co-op gameplay. Teams of up to four trainers can work together to explore the new region of Paldea.

Although this new feature will shake up the format that is familiar to long-time Pokemon fans, devs are expecting positive reception from the community. After all, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is the franchise’s first open-world RPG entry. To make the deal even sweeter, players can play the game with their friends.

Despite this major change, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will still be able to enjoy some traditional multiplayer features. Examples of which are trading Pokemons and battling other trainers from different parts of the world.

With the new Union Circle feature added to the Poke Portal, you and up to three friends can adventure together in the same space,” devs wrote in a press release. “Cheering each other on as you battle wild Pokemon or showing each other the Pokemon that walk along with you.”

Your adventure is bound to be more enjoyable by playing with friends, cooperating to beat Tera Pokemon in Tera Raid Battles,” devs continued. “Sometimes even testing your skills against each other.”

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans already know that that the Terastal Pokemon are a new breed of Pokemon. They are a newly added gem-looking species that are unique to the Paldea region.

At the moment, it remains unclear whether or not the game’s co-op mode is specific to certain regions and events. However, the trailer showed some players riding Koraidon and Miraidon together. This somewhat strengthens the departure from more basic multiplayer features in previous installments.
