Saints Row Reboot Will Be More Modest Than Its Predecessors

Saints Row Reboot Won’t Be As Edgy As Before

Saints Row’s upcoming reboot will reportedly be not as edgy as its predecessors. Developer Volition revealed during a presentation that the the new in-depth system will give players more options for asymmetrical face customization and their favored icon as a dong censor.

Character customization has always been a big part of Saints Row. The much-awaited reboot is clearly leaning heavily into that aspect. Apart from characters, players can also collect and customize their vehicles with performance and cosmetic upgrades.

They can do the same for their weapons as well. Players can tune up their weapons’ firepower with selectable colors, textures, decals, and materials. They can even swap out entire models for a new look. For instance, they can keep their rocket launcher in a guitar case or their .44 Bulldogs in giant foam fingers.

The real standout would probably the Saints Row’s new modesty options. There are 30 different coverage options that fans can choose from. They can cover their junk with a pixelation, a tasteful Censored sign, a peach, an eggplant, and many more. They can even have their in-game characters wear actual underwear for a more traditional approach.

Saints Row players can also cover up their nipples. According to the devs, players can go to town with these options since none of them will be gender-specific. This suggests that everything is on the table, regardless of the character’s build.

It all sounds like a throwaway gag. However, Creative Director Brian Traficante has promised that they are definitely taking Saints Row’s history of over-the-top customization very seriously. He said that “something is coming out” ahead of the game’s release on August 23rd. This will presumably give fans access to the customization tools ahead of time.
