Hogwarts Legacy Will Have Familiar Harry Potter Villain

Hogwarts Legacy Introduces Victor Rookwood

Hogwarts Legacy’s backstory takes place roughly 100 years before The Boy Who Lived roamed the school’s halls. This suggests that neither Harry Potter nor Voldemort are going to make an appearance. However, there will be a lot of indirect connection.

One of the game’s main villains is Victor Rookwood. Die-hard fans of the franchise may have already heard this name in the movies before. Augustus Rookwood was a Dark Wizard and a Death Eater that has been mentioned in the franchise’s cinematic universe.

He was fiercely loyal to He Who Must Not Be Named. He infiltrated the Ministry of Magic’s Department of Mysteries. Rookwood was first mentioned in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and made his first debut in the two-part Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It would seem that Hogwarts Legacy’s Victor Rookwood is his ancestor. Although it is possible for this connection to be a mere coincidence, it is highly unlikely.

At the moment, it remains unclear how big of a role or influence Victor Rookwood is going to have in Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy does not particularly look all that dissimilar to other open world RPGs in the market today. Players can fight people, solve puzzles, and craft things on timers. What makes the title a Harry Potter game is Hogwarts itself. The team behind the highly anticipated game boasts of having created a version of the wizarding school that they are eager for players to explore.

Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s,” the game’s official description reads. “Embark on a journey through familiar and new locations as you explore and discover fantastic beasts, customize your character, craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade talents, and become the wizard you want to be.”

Hogwarts Legacy is currently in the works for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It is due to launch this upcoming holiday season.
