Call of Duty League 2022 Returns To In-Person Schedule From January
Call of Duty: Vanguard released in September 2021 platforms. The title brought the end to the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War era. Towards the end of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the world saw a major change as Covid-19 struck. The Covid-19 pandemic meant that most major events, including eSports events, would be cancelled. The team behind the Call of Duty League has had to adjust for the past two years and switched to online play. However, as the Covid-19 pandemic becomes more manageable, it is time to return to LAN events. Today, the Call of Duty League Kick-Off Classic presented by Zenni Gaming will bring all twelve teams in the competition to Texas to compete on LAN.
The Kick-Off Classic will take place from January 21st to 23rd. The weekend tournament will be hosted in the eSports Stadium Arlington, Texas. The League will release more information concerning tickets and finer details at a later date.
Besides the Kick-Off Classic, 2022 will be full of professional Call of Duty action. Optic Texas will be hosting the first Major from February 4th. Each of the year’s four majors will follow the same pattern. There will be three weeks of online play culminating in a weekend of LAN action to crown the winner of the major.
Furthermore, there will be two mid-season tournaments featuring Pro-AM players and Call of Duty: Warzone pros, streamers and influencers.
To bring the year to an end, eight teams will vie for the title of World Champion in a playoff. This year, there will be no byes and all competing teams will be placed in the Winners Round 1 Bracket. Atlanta FaZe were the champions last season. Who will lift the trophy this time?
