GTA Trilogy Devs Got Rid of a Couple of Cheats for ‘Technical Reasons’

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Won’t Feature Some of the Series’ Traditional Cheats

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy players may notice that they can no longer do some cheats in the game. Apparently, Rockstar has decided to remove a couple of key cheats due to technical reasons. Unfortunately, it was not specified precisely which cheats they got rid of.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy is a trio of remastered GTA titles that are known for defining the open-world sandbox gaming genre. One common favorite feature among fans are the in-game cheats. The players will just have to input a code and they get to see tanks fall from the skies, in-game bank balances becoming lush with freshly deposited money, or riots breaking out on the streets.

We actually had to remove a couple for technical reasons—certain things that did not play well in the Unreal base,” revealed Producer Rich Rosado. “But, that is where I will leave it.”

Although they decided to remove some cheats that the Grand Theft Auto community already knows like muscle memory, Rosado did tease that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy may or may not feature new cheats for players to discover. “There is some fun with discovery,” he added. “I am not saying plus or minus, but I would rather not just go right on the nose before the release of the game and go straight to the end credits.”

The famous Grand Theft Auto cheats certainly add a new level of chaos and fun for its players, but it has been reported that utilizing them may lock players out of a number of achievements and trophies.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy launches today and it is coming with a variety of visual improvements, such as increased pedestrian density, improved weather effects, better character models, more foliage, improved draw distance, and many more.
