“Exclusive News”
Microsoft has announced that Xbox will be at the Tokyo Game Show. They are going to reveal some “exclusive news” during their 50-minute presentation on September 30.
Here is the showcase description:
“Jump in and join Xbox as we bring our gaming ecosystem gaming to the world. We have some exclusive news and content to share, and Tokyo Game Show 2021 is our stage.”
Konami, Capcom, Square Enix, Ubisoft, and 505 Games are among some of the other companies that will also be hosting their own presentation at the Tokyo Game Show. Like last year, this year’s show will be entirely online because we are still living in pandemic times.
It’s nice to see that Microsoft is still trying to be relevant in Japan and go to Japanese shows. They have never performed well in Japan, but according to them, they have seen “phenomenal growth” in that market since the launch of the Xbox Series X / S.
It will be interesting to see what Microsoft brings to this gameshow. I’m hoping we get some more information on Ghostwire: Tokyo. There is no guarantee that we will hear about that, but it makes a lot of sense to reveal more about the game at Tokyo Game Show. Outside of the name, it is also made by the only studio Microsoft owns in Japan; Tango Gameworks. I’m quite a fan of Tango Gameworks ever since The Evil Within 2.
With the pandemic and all of the delays, I’m sure we will see a lot of games set to release in 2022, which is unfortunate because now I’m going to go broke buying a bunch of games set to release within the first few months of 2022.
The Xbox Tokyo Game Show Showcase 2021 is set to take place September 30 at 6 PM local time in Japan, which is 2 AM PT / 5 AM ET / 10 AM BST.
