10 Games to Watch Out for This Fall
We’ve all endured lockdowns and extended periods of time in our homes and in doing so our games queue has probably seen quite the decrease. Of course, there are always more games to add to the queue, many big AAA titles set to drop later this year.
And while this year may have seemed a bit uncertain for the development of video games, considering all the delays, there’s plenty to get excited about. In fact, by the end of the fall, we should all have more games on our ever-growing must-play lists. So which ones should you be keeping an eye out for? Here are the 10 most anticipated games of Fall 2021 and yes, there’s a little something for everyone on this list.
Metroid Dread (October 8, 2021)
October 8th marks the wonderful return of Samus Aran, the hugely popular intergalactic bounty hunter, in Metroid Dread. This brand new title continues the story from Metroid Fusion – if you remember this was 19 years ago! Metroid Dread returns to its platforming and exploration roots and all with high definition graphics. Have fun battling new alien and mechanical enemies on planet ZDR with some old and some distinct and unfamiliar abilities alike. Metroid Dread is going to be an absolute time sucker, one where you may need to come up for fresh air, put on a new change of clothes and binge for the entire weekend. Hell, you might even want to book the following week off work!
Far Cry 6 (October 7, 2021)
Far Cry is one of the most entertaining and diverse franchises out there; it’s certainly eccentric and thrilling, and yet none before Far Cry 6 have looked quite as fantastic. Fans and newbies to the series are in for a real treat with what are set to be incredible performances by Giancarlo Esposito and Troy Baker to name a few. I’m looking forward to seeing the story unfold because after the first trailer I was hooked. And every trailer since has me even more impatient for its release this October. I don’t know about you but I’m certainly ready to jump in and discover everything Ubisoft has to offer. See you all in Cuba!
Battlefield 2042 (October 22, 2021)
It’s been two and half years since the release of Battlefield V and though there’s still plenty of life left there I know I can’t be the only one itching for a new one. Like its predecessor, Battlefield 2042 looks absolutely stunning. It’s eye-catching, colorful, and just as it should be, totally realistic. DICE has really upped the ante as well, with larger battles than ever before – 128 players to be exact – colliding in the near future that’s seen plenty of environmental changes. What’s even better is that the gameplay still looks just as frantic as ever. And as if it wasn’t obvious, we better strap in and prepare to be blown to smithereens by all of the weapons and vehicles added to the arsenal. There’s no doubt that Battlefield 2042 is a very solid contender for best in class this year.
