They’re Answering Questions About the Game and Their Quest For a Truly Realistic RPG
After a brief delay, the upcoming survival horror game Chernobylite is now expected to launch this summer. The final pre-launch patch has been added to the game–all that’s left is for Publisher All In! Games and Chernobylite Developer The Farm 51 to answer some of the fanbase’s many questions this week on Reddit. They’ll be responding to questions about Chernobylite, its development, and the developer’s ongoing quest to create a truly realistic RPG. Accompanying this announcement is a release date trailer that showcases exactly what the team has created here. If this video is anything to go by, Chernobylite will be a strange, surreal survival horror game that pits the protagonist Igor Khymynuk up against twisted monsters, Russian soldiers, and the fabric of time itself in his quest to rescue his missing bride Tatyana.
The Reddit AMA will be held on June 24th at 6:00 PM CEST / 5:00 PM BST / 9:00 AM PST, hosted by the r/Games Subreddit. The people attending will be u/sadocommando51, also known as Wojciech Pazdur, Creative Director of Chernobylite at The Farm 51, and u/Legileg, also known as Artur Fojcik, who is the Chernobylite Game Director at The Farm 51. Between the two of them, they should have all the answers we seek.
In Chernobylite, players will build a base, lead a team, and delve deep into the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone searching for the supernatural mineral Chernobylite. Formed during the Chernobyl nuclear meltdown, this substance has a number of physics-defying properties, including the ability to control the flow of time. Igor wants to use this to travel back to Tatyana’s disappearance 30 years ago and save her, and it appears that she wants that too–or at least, something that looks and sounds an awful lot like her does. Maybe someone should see if the devs are willing to answer whether that unmoving character model actually belongs to Tatyana.
Chernobylite will be released for Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on July 28th, 2021.
