Old Games Never Die–At Least, These Ones Haven’t
If you’ve been kicking yourself for missing out on part of Telltale’s extensive gaming catalog, you’re in luck. The company has begun re-releasing some of their greatest hits for PC. We already told you about The Walking Dead‘s return to Steam, the new remaster of Sam & Max Save The World, and the two new titles in the works. Now, get ready for a blast from the past with Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People, and Telltale Texas Hold’Em!. Yeah, you read that correctly–Strong Bad’s award-winning, autobiographical game (or so he claims) is available for purchase once more. If you’re familiar with the title, rejoice! More interactive cartoon point-and-click action is coming your way. If not, ask yourself: ‘can I really live with myself if I don’t take this opportunity to try it out?’ The answer will probably be yes, but come on, it’ll be funny.
Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures is another episodic game based on a show, this one the claymation classic. If you haven’t picked up this gem already, do yourself a favor and check it out. The press release describes it like this: “Based on the award-winning Aardman characters, Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures is a point-and-click interactive story series comprising four episodes, each seeing the affable inventor and his loyal dog through madcap exploits full of mishaps and humor.”
Mishaps and humor? What more can you ask for? Jamie Ottilie, CEO of the new Telltale, has this to say about the re-releases: “The classic Telltale titles really set the bar for early narrative games and garnered such loyal followings.” He goes on to hope that the company can “make as many of the classic games available again for fans and, hopefully, a whole new audience while we work on a number of new titles.”
We hope things go well for Telltale!
