The Journey’s End Update Coming to Terraria This Month
Developers behind the indie hit Terraria recently announced on the games official website that the Journey’s End update will release for free on May 16th for all owners of the game. The update will bring tons of new content to the game such as new enemies, revamped world generation and new biomes. Re-logic will be adopting the popular tModLoader Terraria mod to ensure that the game continues to evolve thanks to the dedicated fan base. Terraria is available for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, PC and last-gen consoles right now, with the Journey’s End update coming in less than two weeks.
Re-logic developers explained during their Journey’s End post that the announcement was originally made during E3 last year, though they didn’t speak on E3 2020’s cancellation. “As we always do, we have left out a ton of juicy details and other content and features that will be included with Terraria: Journey’s End. Some of those have or might be spoiled between now and launch, but others will remain a secret until you have the update in your hands later this year,” claimed the developers. This suggests that even with the plethora of content announced for Terraria’s fourth big update, more will be unveiled over time.
Terraria: Journey’s End will release with An “in-game Bestiary” which will record “key statistics” and loot information about fallen enemies, golf, a new difficulty mode that will be “a true gauntlet for the best of the best,” new and enhanced weather effects, 800 new items, new enemies and challenges, a full revamp of world generation which includes new mini-biomes and many quality of life improvements. All of these new additions will provide fans of the series plenty of new content to return to Terraria for.
