This Was Never About Stopping Ragnarok, It Was About Causing Ragnarok
You’ve probably heard about Ragnarok from one of three sources; 1. Studying Norse mythology, 2. Thor: Ragnarok, or 3. the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok. It is basically a prophesied destruction of the Norse gods and of their world. It’s also a dope sounding word. Throwing it on as an Assassin’s Creed subtitle suggests that the game will take place in a viking/Norse setting, which has been rumored for a while. Recently, the game and a couple of different editions briefly surfaced on various retailer websites.
The postings have since been taken down, but Reddit has proof of the sightings. On Amazon Germany, we see Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok – Valhalla Edition, and on GameStop Italy, we see Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok – Mjolnir Edition. We have no idea what would be included in these editions or which is the more expensive/rewarding, but it is worth mentioning that the Valhalla Edition is set to above the standard and gold editions on the website. Valhalla is the Norse version of the afterlife and Mjolnir is the hammer of Thor, so in terms of mythological scale, the Valhalla Edition might be the mightier of the two.
Perhaps we will not need to wait too long to see if these sightings are true. There are rumors that the game will be officially revealed in February. Obviously, there is no official release date or supported platforms. We don’t even know if Ragnarok will even be the real name.
What do you think about these different editions? Let us know in the comments below.
