Monster Hunter World and Resident Evil Unite in November
Capcom’s two biggest franchises unite when Resident Evil infects Monster Hunter World: Iceborne next month. The game will feature Claire Redfield, Leon Kennedy and the ominous Mr. X. This crossover also adds zombies to the world as gamers hunt other monsters and dinosaurs to upgrade their armor and weapons. Zones take on a new feel as the Umbrella virus morphs the landscape, showing gamers which areas are infested by zombies. Capcom’s Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Resident Evil 2 are both currently available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
This Capcom crossover opens a Monster Hunter World of potential with other franchises potentially crossing over in the future such as Mega Man, Street Fighter or even Phoenix Wright. We’re looking forward to the inclusion of Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy but Mr. X is looking a lot more comedic and fun in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne compared to his ominous and scary tone in Resident Evil 2.With Halloween around the corner and gamers getting spooky in October, it’s quite perplexing that this update comes out in November rather than in a week or two.
Gamers who haven’t checked out Monster Hunter World yet ought to check out our review of the recent Iceborne expansion here. We find the winter wonderland looks and sounds as good as the original world and the Steamworks mini-game was a fun way to stack consumables. Capcom is constantly evolving the game with cross-game collaborations like this Resident Evil one as well as constant events which add to the endless things to do.
