Ubisoft’s Official Store Leaks Apparent Ubisoft Pass Premium Plans
E3 2019 is less than two weeks away and it seems that while Ubisoft may have had a rather large surprise for the event planned, a leak from their official store may have taken some of the oomph out of the announcement. If the leak is anything to go by apparently Ubisoft is set to launch their own subscription service similar to that of EA Access.
According to a new leak from the Ubisoft official store the huge company is gearing up to launch their own subscription service called Ubisoft Pass Premium. The listing for the service briefly appeared on the Ubisoft Store under the subscription category. Fans were quick to notice that this category had never previously existed. At this point the theory is that the Ubisoft Pass Premium will be similar to EA’s current Origin Access where they offer a two-tiered approach: Basic and Premium.
While it’s always good to take any leaks and/or rumors of any kind with a grain of salt there are definitely some factors that make this seem very likely. The first is that the leak didn’t come from a random Twitter user or website, but the official Ubisoft store as if the page simply launched too early. The second is that the timing of the leak is rather unfortunate, with E3 right around the corner, which takes place June 11th to 13th, and we all know how hard it seems to be for companies to keep things under wraps in the weeks leading up to the massive event.
While the listing for the subscription service has currently been removed from the Ubisoft store and no further detail is available about it, it’s likely it will be officially announced during Ubisoft’s press conference at E3.
