Start Collecting Those Nazi Scalps Early In Battlefield V
Those looking to jump into Battlefield V are in for a surprise today – providing they’ve subscribed to one of EA’s gaming subscriptions services on PC or Xbox.
Those who have subscribed to EA’s Origin Access Premier service will be able to jump into the full game right away, while those who have subscribed to the base-tier Origin Access or it’s Xbox counterpart, EA Access, will be able to play a 10 hour trial of the full game, single and multi-player included.
Battlefield V is set during World War II, where many of the world’s armies came together to repel the forces of the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis as they tried to expand territories, the most notorious of which being Nazi Germany as they championed ideals of racial purity and worked towards that goal by sending anyone they deemed “unworthy of life,” which included any non-white peoples, homosexuals, the mentally and physically disabled, as well as those belonging to the Jewish faith, and Jehovah’s Witnesses, to concentration camps where they were tortured, killed, and buried in mass graves. After the suicide of their leader, Adolf Hitler, Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allies (who later became the United Nations) over the course of the following month.
In the single-player campaign, War Stories, Players will take up the roles of multiple people in their struggle against the Nazis, including a young woman liberating her family and country from their occupation by the Nazis in Norway, a British criminal on the run tasked with destroying German air bases in the desert of North Africa, French Senegalese infantry units liberating a “homeland they’ve never seen before,” and a German tank crew that begins to realize a bit too late that they might be the bad guys.
Sufficient to say, it may be a bit much for those worried about the marriage of politics and video games, especially those who are particularly sensitive about the game’s inclusion of the women who fought during World War II.
Battlefield V drops on November 20th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, though those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition will be able to start collecting Nazi scalps on the 15th. The game’s PC requirements were recently revealed, along with the extraordinarily long day one patch notes. Let us know if you’ll be jumping into Battlefield V today in the comments and keep it locked to COGconnected for all the latest gaming news!
