Days Gone Now Releasing April 26th, 2019
Sony has decided to move Days Gone from its crowded February 22nd, 2019 release date to a more comfortable date two months later. It will now come out April 26th, 2019.
Sony made the announcement in a recent PlayStation Blog post detailing upcoming games coming to the platform from its Worldwide Studios division. Their explanation is as follows:
“We recently decided to move the release of Days Gone from the crowded February timeframe to April 26, 2019,” wrote Asad Qizilbasg, Marketing Vice President for SIEA. “While the studio is eager to see Days Gone in the hands of fans, Bend Studio will take the opportunity to further polish Days Gone.”
Announced all the way back in 2016 during Sony’s E3 presentation, Days Gone was originally planned to come out this year. It was later officially pushed back in June when a new trailer revealed the February 22nd, 2019 release date. Since then, it’s been a little bit quiet when it comes to updates with the game. With this new delay, it appears it was merely a decision to move it out of a crowded release slot. Other games still coming on February 22nd are Anthem, Crackdown 3, and Metro Exodus.
While delays can certainly be disappointing for those who have been waiting for so long, delays ultimately help a game become better in the long run. A two-month wait is a short amount of time if it means Days Gone will be a better game when it finally launches.
