The Creator of PUBG Is Considering More Map Variety to the Fight
Just yesterday PUBG Corp. announced their intention to address the current weapon imbalances that find majority of players choosing an assault rifle over all others. While no date was given for the big update, this comes alongside Brendan Greene’s statement about bringing bigger, and maybe even some smaller, maps to his popular Battle Royale title.
Player Unknown himself, Brendan Greene, recently spoke with GameSpot about what he wants PUBG to look like in the future. He stated that the team at PUBG Corp. is looking to create bigger maps in the future, as well as seeing if more smaller maps would work as well. “We want to continue to add these battlegrounds,” Greene said to GameSpot. “We now know that 4×4 works really well for a smaller battle royale–maybe we’ll look in the future at doing more 4×4 maps, [while] keeping those two scales of maps and maybe even doing bigger maps. The whole idea is to experiment with the game mode and see what works well.
Greene continued discussing what could be on the horizon for the hugely successful Battle Royale game, saying that the team is working on another 8×8 map that they hope to release later this year, in addition to the smaller 4×4 map Savage that’s currently in the testing phase on PC. The mastermind behind PUBG also revealed that they are working on adding a lot more variety to Savage with an underground system!
The PC version of the game currently has two maps available to play while Miramar, the second map of PUBG, is making its way to the Xbox One version next month. Are you excited to hear that there are plans for both bigger and smaller maps? Do you have a preference? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and keep it locked for updates!
