Monk Took Book Brings Cozy-Creepy Library Management to PC on 3rd September

Prepare to Step Inside a Medieval Library in Monk Took Book

SquarePlay Games has announced that Monk Took Book, its cozy-creepy library management game, will launch on PC via Steam on Thursday, September 3. The game will be available for under $10, and you can wishlist it right now on the platform.

Monk Took Book puts players inside a medieval library filled with hundreds of books that need to be organised, stacked and, most importantly, remembered. The game combines the growing tidy-up genre with a memory challenge inspired by Wilmot’s Warehouse.

Players won’t find titles on the books. Instead, each one has a picture on its cover, meaning players must work together to create their own system for organising the library. They’ll then need to remember exactly where they placed each book when it’s time to find it again.

Alastair McQueen from SquarePlay Games said, “Everyone knows you can’t judge a book by its cover. But in Monk Took Book you have to. Because the books don’t have titles, only a picture on the front, players have to decide together how to organise them, using their own logic.” he added. “And then they have to remember where they put them.”

The peaceful library work won’t always stay peaceful, either. Ghostly hauntings, book thieves, pests, fires and physics-based chaos can disrupt the players’ plans. There’s also optional Viking raider combat for those looking for a little more action.

Monk Took Book will support solo play or co-op with up to three friends. With its unusual mix of organisation, memory and light chaos, it looks like a fun pick for players who enjoy relaxing games with a creepy twist.
