Blasterbug: Last Bug Standing! Explodes Onto Steam as a Free-To-Play Party Game

Have a Blast in Blasterbug: Last Bug Standing!

Dotemu, the team behind Absolum and MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, has surprised retro gaming fans with the launch of Blasterbug: Last Bug Standing!, a chaotic new free-to-play party game. The game is now available as a free download on Steam, with support for local multiplayer featuring up to eight players.

Blasterbug: Last Bug Standing! throws colorful insect characters into unpredictable arenas where players battle it out using explosive cluster bombs, special attacks, and environmental hazards. The game features five different modes, including Death Battle, Coin Battle, Crown Battle, Paint Battle, and Party Battle, giving players plenty of ways to cause some good old-fashioned chaos.

There are 15 playable characters, each bringing their own playstyle and special abilities to the fight. Players can also battle across 15 insect-filled arenas, with environments offering their own unique twists. From the streets of Bugville to dangerous sewers and a surprisingly threatening kitchen spoon, knowing how to use each arena could make the difference between victory and getting squashed.

Dotemu has also added a little crossover fun for fans of Absolum. The €1.99 Absolum Pack introduces Galandra as a playable character, complete with her massive sword and Necrotic Wave ability, alongside the Jaroba Arena inspired by the fantasy action game.

With its colorful presentation, explosive gameplay, and emphasis on quick multiplayer matches, Blasterbug: Last Bug Standing! looks like the kind of game built around the classic “just one more round” mentality.

If you’re looking for a quick multiplayer game with plenty of ridiculous bug-based chaos, this one is worth checking out.
