Amphibian Brings a Frog-Based RPG Adventure to Steam and Consoles in 2028

Frogs, War, and Survival Collide in Amphibian

JARCORP Interactive has revealed Amphibian, a story-driven Super2D RPG that puts players in the middle of a bleak world inhabited by talking frogs and toads. The game is planned to launch in 2028 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The story follows Sapo and his frog allies as they struggle to survive a devastating drought while battling an invading toad army. With starvation and dehydration spreading across The Pond, the group must find a way to save their homeland.

Inspired by classic GameCube and Game Boy Advance-era RPGs, Amphibian focuses on carefully designed, turn-based battles rather than random encounters. Players will control a party of four, face a variety of dangerous creatures, and develop their characters through branching class systems that allow for different builds and playstyles.

The game also aims to keep its adventure focused. There are no shops or currency, while limited side content means players cannot simply grind their way through difficult sections. Health and resources must instead be managed carefully during battles. Exploration will include light 2D platforming and puzzles inspired by classic survival horror games.

Visually, Amphibian combines traditional 2D pixel art with modern effects and perspective to create its “Super2D” style. GRAMMY-winning producer Shireen Ghosh is handling the sound design, while creative director Greg Alexandropoulos is creating a rock-inspired soundtrack.

Amphibian is shaping up to be an intriguing RPG for players who prefer focused adventures with meaningful combat and storytelling. We’ll have to wait until 2028 to see how it all comes together.
