A Big Step for WILL: Follow the Light
Independent developer TomorrowHead Studio has unveiled a fresh look at its upcoming narrative puzzle adventure, WILL: Follow The Light, with a brand new gameplay trailer shown during the Future Games Show Live at Gamescom 2025. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the title promises a deeply atmospheric journey that blends exploration, storytelling, and environmental puzzles. Alongside the reveal, the studio confirmed that closed playtests will begin later this year, with sign-ups now available.
Set against the stark beauty of the far north, the game follows a father’s search for his missing son. Players will trek through fierce storms, frozen landscapes, and long-forgotten ruins while uncovering fragments of the past that piece together Will’s story. The latest trailer introduces striking new environments as well as fresh traversal mechanics and puzzles, highlighting the mix of emotional narrative and interactive challenges that define the experience.
The announcement also serves as an invitation for players to join the first wave of closed testing. Those who register will gain early access to select parts of the game, offering a chance to explore its world before release while contributing valuable feedback to its development.
“We’ve been blown away by the support since our gameplay reveal in March,” said Roman Novikov, Founder and Game Director at TomorrowHead Studio. “Now we’re excited to take the next step — opening the doors for players to join us in testing key parts of the experience and help shape the journey ahead.”
With its haunting setting and focus on emotional storytelling, WILL: Follow The Light is shaping up to be a standout narrative-driven adventure as it heads toward release.
