Become a Viking in NORSE: Oath of Blood
Tripwire Presents, the publishing arm of Tripwire Interactive, and developer Arctic Hazard revealed a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming title NORSE: Oath of Blood during FGS Live at gamescom. The Viking age turn-based tactical game is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It will be coming out in North America and Europe sometime this year. PC players can already wishlist the game ahead of launch. Moreover, you can check out the trailer on Tripwire’s official YouTube channel.

The new trailer delivers the most detailed look yet at the tactical combat awaiting players. Battles unfold with visceral sword and axe strikes, emphasizing strategic decisions in every clash. Beyond the battlefield, players will interact with residents of Gunnar’s village. There are smiths and other key figures who provide essential services to rebuild and sustain the settlement. Customization also plays a central role, with equipment, skills, and warband composition. This will ultimately allow players to forge their own path through the saga.
Alongside the trailer, Tripwire Presents confirmed that the soundtrack will feature music from Galdorcræft, a dark neo-folk band. They are popular for blending ancient and modern instruments into atmospheric soundscapes. Using lyres, Moraharpa or Nyckelharpa, jaw harps, horns, skin drums, and even bones and antlers, the group creates a ritualistic and immersive sound rooted in history, mythology, and nature. Their track StÃgr is now available to stream on YouTube, offering the first glimpse of the game’s evocative score.
Blending brutal combat, settlement management, and a soundtrack steeped in Viking lore, NORSE: Oath of Blood seeks to capture the spirit of an age where warriors became legends.
