1666: Amsterdam Is Entering Early Access on PC Later This Month

Fight Against Demonic Forces in 1666: Amsterdam

Panache Digital Games has announced that 1666: Amsterdam will officially enter Early Access on August 25 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Alongside the release date, the developer has shared a new gameplay feature that gives players a closer look at the systems they will use throughout the dark adventure. The footage focuses on the investigation mechanics, with players taking on the role of Noa and hunting down mysterious entities known as the Originals across Amsterdam.

The third-person, story-driven action-adventure takes players to Amsterdam in 1666, a city hiding a much darker secret beneath its wealthy and imposing surface. The Originals have lived for centuries, gaining supernatural power and using it for their own purposes. The Zaindaris raised Noa Brooklyn, known as the Collector, to reclaim that power.

Players will explore the city during the day, searching for clues and identifying the Originals hiding among ordinary citizens. When night falls and the Esbat arrives, those investigations turn into dangerous confrontations against their true forms.

Noa can use a variety of witchcraft and spells, giving players different ways to approach each target. The game also features a second playable character, Aaron, who was summoned from 1999 and now experiences the world as a cat. Players can switch between Noa’s magical abilities and Aaron’s unique feline gameplay.

A free prologue is already available, allowing players to experience the opening chapter and get a taste of the centuries-spanning mystery before Early Access begins.

With its supernatural setting, investigation-focused gameplay, and unusual cat companion, 1666: Amsterdam is shaping up to be an intriguing adventure to watch when it launches later this month.
