Manage Your Gas Station in Shift at Midnight
Shift at Midnight, a new co-op detective horror game from Australian solo developer Bun Muen, is officially available now on PC and Xbox Series X|S. Published by Kwalee, Players can also jump into the experience through Game Pass on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. The game is priced at $9.99 / £9.99 / €9.99.

Designed for up to three players, Shift at Midnight blends co-op survival with detective gameplay. Instead of simply running a gas station, you and your teammates must investigate every customer who walks through the door. While most appear normal, some are actually dangerous doppelgangers hiding in plain sight. Failing to identify one before they leave the store can have deadly consequences.
During each randomly generated shift, players will restock shelves, accept deliveries, clean the station, and serve customers while trying to meet nightly quotas. They can question every customer, check their identification, and verify their details through the store’s computer system. Observing suspicious behavior is just as important as managing the business, as one wrong decision can quickly turn a routine shift into a fight for survival.
Once a disguised creature escapes, the peaceful workday ends. Players must barricade entrances, set traps, and hide from terrifying monsters that return to hunt them down. The game’s proximity voice chat also adds another layer of tension, making teamwork and communication essential.
To celebrate the launch, Shift at Midnight has also joined forces with Escape the Backrooms, Phasmophobia, and YAPYAP in a collection of themed Steam bundles offering discounts for co-op horror fans.
If you’re looking for a fresh multiplayer horror experience that mixes investigation with survival, Shift at Midnight is worth keeping on your radar.
