Get Your Hands on Time Takers for the First Time
NCSOFT and developer Mistil Games have officially launched the Closed Beta Test for their upcoming survival shooter, Time Takers. Registered players can now access the beta on Steam, while registration remains open for anyone who still wants to participate. This marks the first public opportunity for players to experience the fast-paced shooter, where every second counts toward survival.
The beta test runs from March 13 to March 21, with servers opening for eight hours each day. The limited play windows aim to maintain strong competition while ensuring stable matchmaking throughout the test. Each day, players can access the servers from 16:00 to 00:00 PDT.
Time Takers introduces a unique gameplay concept in which time is the most valuable resource. Instead of relying on a traditional health system, players depend on “Time Energy,” which represents their remaining lifespan during a match. Every decision carries weight. Players may spend time upgrading abilities and builds in the middle of a match, or sacrifice some of their remaining time to support teammates and keep the squad alive during intense encounters.
The game also removes fixed character roles. Rather than following preset classes, players shape their playstyle through teamwork, quick thinking, and how they manage their time during combat. Depending on the situation, anyone can shift between aggressive play and supportive tactics.
The CBT offers a preview of the core experience, featuring 12 playable characters, including a spacesuited monkey and a samurai from feudal Japan. Players will also battle across three maps, Yokogawa, Morstadt, and Miraesi, while using a selection of 10 unique weapons. The test features the game’s main three-player competitive mode, where teamwork and coordination determine victory.
According to the developers, this first beta phase primarily targets players in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. However, the studio plans to host a global beta test later, ahead of the full release on PC and consoles later this year.
