Bellwright Reaches 1 Million Sales While Still in Steam Early Access

Bellwright Is Also Coming to Consoles

Medieval open-world survival RPG Bellwright has crossed a major milestone, selling more than one million units while still in Steam Early Access. Developer Donkey Crew shared the news alongside partner Snail Games USA, highlighting the strong reception the game has received since its early launch. The team also confirmed that Bellwright will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles when the game reaches its full 1.0 release.

Bellwright

Set in a sprawling medieval world, Bellwright places players in the role of a leader rebuilding a fractured land. Players establish and expand settlements, help villagers reclaim their homes, and gather allies to strengthen their cause. As the story unfolds, players uncover the past they were forced to leave behind while commanding troops, engaging in combat, and gradually building a reputation as a champion of the people.

Since its debut in April 2024, the game has continued to grow through a steady stream of content updates. One of the most notable additions is the Maiden Voyage update, which introduced the Halmare Isles map. The new region is roughly a quarter the size of the original world and spans more than ten square kilometers. It includes new story-driven quests with multiple progression paths, additional armor and equipment, new animals and structures, and a newly introduced Loyalty and Faction system that deepens the game’s strategic elements.

Creative Director and Project Lead Florian “Chadz” Hofreither said the milestone shows the team is moving in the right direction. According to him, player feedback and support continue to motivate the team as development progresses toward the full 1.0 launch. Hofreither will also be available for interviews at GDC 2026 from March 9 to 13 at Booth #1238.
