Fight for Your Freedom in AlcheMice
Spanish developer Red Mountain Games has shared an updated roadmap for the upcoming AlcheMice demo while also announcing a new playtest and celebrating recognition at the Game Developers Conference 2026.
The team originally planned to release the demo earlier, but those plans changed after Slay the Spire II confirmed its Early Access launch for March 5. In a Steam post, the developers explained that the demo will now arrive in April. As fans of the deckbuilding genre, the studio wants the demo to have enough space and visibility so players can discover the game at the right moment.
Players will still have an opportunity to try AlcheMice before then. A new private playtest launches on March 12 through Steam. The test will gather gameplay data, identify technical issues, and refine the experience ahead of the public demo. Selected participants will gain early access and provide feedback that could influence the next build, with the possibility of additional waves depending on testing needs.
Alongside development updates, Red Mountain Games will attend GDC 2026 with support from a scholarship provided by Xsolla, a program that helps indie and mid-tier studios take part in major international events.
During the conference, AlcheMice will be one of ten titles to present at a pitching session on March 11 at the Festival Hall Theater. The game has also been named a GDC 2026 Best in Play winner, highlighting standout projects for design, execution, and audience appeal. Beyond GDC, the team will also showcase the game at Play Córdoba and other Spanish industry events later this year.
