Embrace the Madness in Strange Brew
Electric Monk Media has officially launched its cinematic action platformer Strange Brew on Steam, inviting players to step into the webbed feet of Joe the Duck, a jittery coffee-shop mascot powered by espresso and pure adrenaline.
Set in the crumbling remains of a company-owned town, the game follows the aftermath of a disastrous MoonDucks Coffee experiment. A contaminated pumpkin spice latte has turned the town’s citizens into ravenous zombies, plunging the streets into chaos. As Joe, players must rely on speed, sharp timing, and the environment itself to survive. Crackling power lines, collapsing streets, and runaway industrial machines become both hazards and tools in a desperate bid to outrun the undead.
Strange Brew blends cinematic camera work with fast-paced 3D platforming to create high-intensity chase sequences and over-the-top horror spectacle. Players dash through strobe-lit warehouses, cling to speeding transit systems, and scramble across city blocks as they crumble into ruin. Each level escalates the tension, demanding constant movement and quick improvisation to stay alive.
Paying homage to classic zombie films, the game also includes an unlockable black-and-white “1968 Living Dead Mode.” With grainy visuals, stark lighting, and retro presentation, this mode offers a stylish alternate way to experience the apocalypse, ideally with a strong cup of coffee nearby.
Strange Brew is available now on Steam for $14.99 USD. To mark the launch, Electric Monk Media is offering a limited-time 10% discount.
